Education

I love communication, people, strategic planning, and writing. This overlapping passion led me to study Public Relations at California State University, Northridge.

Career

My journey with Journalism began in 2020 after my senior year of high school. Throughout my high school years, I worked as a SAG entertainment background performer while also studying in between classes and taking performing arts extracurriculars. My favorite classes happened to be theater and english because I was able to express my feelings and tell stories, which led me to want to major in a creative field.

That same year, I attended Los Angeles Valley college where I took courses in news- writing, public relations, grammar, and even film. A year later, I earned my first internship as a staff writer for the Valley Star Newspaper. I got to become a part of a real news room and see what it’s like to work with editors, writers, and photographers. I learned there that field is people focused, relied on a significant amount of imagination and strategy, and required constant research and flexibility.

It was the perfect fit for me. I got to interview students and faculty, learn AP style, promote different departments, and most importantly meet new people.

Currently I’m working at the Strategic Communications and Brand Management department at California State University, Northridge as a social media assistant and am expected to graduate in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.

Through my classes, internship, and various projects that I do for CSUN, I’m constantly developing new skills that I need to become an expert public relations practitioner.

During my time at CSUN, I have learned to use programs such as Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Monday.com, Canva, and Google Suite all used to format a compelling campaign.

I’m always seeking to learn from communications professionals through mentoring and self-guided learning.

My career dream is to collaborate with public relations practitioners as passionate and curious as I am and to work in TV Entertainment promoting films and new scripts.
